so the (countdown) begins...

bye, bye (2005)! we have hit the stroke of midnight, and (2006) is officially less than (24 hours) away!! this means it's time for a look back...and a peek ahead! but not to worry, there will be no new year's resolutions. (at least none that will be caught publicly documented)! XD

the past 12 months have flown by surprisingly quickly. it has been eventful, stressful, exciting, and hectic! i devoted 8 months to (not) working on my 440 project. i got to know a few very special friends, and abandoned a couple along the way. i lost 25+ pounds on a diet of (b33r)+(ice cream)!! my relationship with the parentals hit a new low. i'm still committed to the student society. and i just may have glimpsed the light at the end of the graduation tunnel! :D

but what i'll remember most about (2005) are the new experiences. for the first time ever, i lived on my own for over a month! i went on not one, not two, but three extended roadtrips through southern BC. i have finally been to (banff) and (calgary)!! i got involved with the peak and cjsf. and even though our plans ultimately fell through, i almost found myself involved in the throwing of a very big concert!!!

i'm heading to (the plaza) tonight with (melody) and co. and i don't have to pay cover!! i've never been to (the plaza) for new year's, so i'm pretty excited! :P

identity crisis?!?

tonight i saw hot loins perform for the first time. i also saw (and spoke to) dandi wind! i had a blast hanging with the cjsf suspects. and the (taco) was nowhere in sight!!

i also signed on to helping put on the cjsf (arctic wasteland) bbq+(b33r garden)+(pub night) on january 20.

i may be turning into an radio-active bunny. (a chain-smoking one), no less! o.O

the past few days have been a pile of fun! i spent much of it gaming and partying, but also found time to initiate some (nefarious) projects for the new year. what (nefarious) projects, you ask? well, you just gotta wait 'til january to find out!! XD

on friday i ventured off on a (random) photo adventure, armed with my brand new (fish-eye) lens! i dragged my new favorite (jailbait) all around the north shore, from lonsdale, to ambleside, to cypress, before settling in for some (spiked) eggnog and people-watching in horseshoe bay. i took a ton of artsy photos, and chatted up a couple of really hot (polish) tourists. it was great! and for the record, (1) i love eggnog, (2) there are lots of pretty rich people, and (3) there are no (asians) in horseshoe bay!! (seriously). we didn't see a single person who vaguely resembled asian in the 2.5 hours we spent at the local strip mall. (shocking), but true!! o.O

sherry and i met up for some late-afternoon refreshments on saturday. i haven't seen her in ages and it was nice to catch up. we have plans to hang out some more in the next couple of weeks. now if only i can convince the parental units to let me run off to vegas this holiday season!! :P

since sunday, i've dedicated my existence to (aeon flux) - on PS2! it still doesn't quite compare to (bloodrayne2), but it's pretty good for a game minus gratuitous violence. (true crime : new york city) ain't bad either, especially when you play it the way it's meant to be played - as a crooked cop, GTA-style!! there's even a (super viagra) mode. you have to try it to believe it!! XD

oh, i finally met the new (amanda mccuaig). aka (lindsay), the new cmnsu president. for the record, the cmnsu website needs a serious update!! but karen is leaving for co-op soon. she's going to the t.dot for (14 months)! i think i might be jealous! :P

and oh, i finally checked my gmail account. for the first time in a month! there were a (disturbing) number of japan-related threads. me thinks (wimpy) is too bored. and that she should let the yappy dogs have their way with each other. i'm rather thrilled with the horns that are creeping up on (wimpy). and the purity points that are decaying by the minute! XD

i'm counting down the days 'til the return of my drinking buddy!!! sorry, (taco). i'm sure you can persuade evil bunnies to love you anyways!! XD

this week has been rather bizarre. i have not necessarily responded well. but the experience has reminded me of many things. it reaffirmed a thought i had during my solo road trip. and (yes). i had a deep thought! you should be so proud. XD

i am not angry anymore. i am not even annoyed now. i am looking forward to my new initiative. and i can't wait till december 17!!

senate committees are (evil). that's the only explanation for why senate, scaisle, scemp, scup, and ucitf all falls within a 3-day period this week. mary ann, maureen, and sarah d are lovely people, but they probably shouldn't be the people i see most in any given week! i'll still gladly go to lunch with them next week tho. the ucitf is going to the himalayan peak!!

i've spent a ridiculous number of hours this month reading documentation. i've spent ridiculously few hours reading coursework this semester. i officially have zero chance now of getting a D in 488. i also have zero chance of getting a higher grade. but then again, i can't get into 460 or 495. so either way, i'm so not graduating.

i suspect i'm not gonna get my shit together before board tomorrow. i blame the stack of (evil) senate documents.

in memory of a nemesis.

a boy i once knew was killed in a car accident last night. he was t-boned by a speeding driver on his way home. the accident was so bad that his body had to be cut from the wreckage. he leaves behind 3 little kids, including a baby who is barely 7 months old.

his death has hit me surprisingly hard, considering the long-standing animosity that existed between us. right now i'm in the unenvious position of having to tell his wife about the accident. the two of them have not spoken in weeks. but still, how do you tell someone that her children no longer have a father? or that they will soon wind up in foster care?

i'm not looking forward to monday.
